Psychiatrist in Tustin

Grace Kwon D.O.

Dr. Grace Kwon is an ABPN (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology) diplomat who holds two certifications in general adult psychiatry and addiction psychiatry.  She grew up in Southern California with dreams of becoming a psychiatrist one day since the age of 7.   From a young age, she appreciated the story that one's life has to tell.   Like Sid Barrett, a man who's life, talent and mind inspired the music and lyrics of perhaps the most talented band in modern times, Pink Floyd.

She majored in Psychobiology when she attended UCLA as an undergraduate to complement her passion for the human mind and it was followed by attending Western University in Pomona for medical school.  She completed one year of an internship in internal medicine in Pacific Hospital.  Followed by a 4 year  general adult psychiatry residency at Harbor UCLA.   She then braved the Eastern winter for one year to pursue a sub-specialty fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at  the Yale School of Medicine.

Dr. Kwon immediately returned to Southern California as scraping the ice off the windows of the car did not come with ease.   She has worked with the county and homeless population as well as Newport Coast patients who are suffering from the throws of their addictions.  She has authored a chapter in a book about Motivational Interviewing, published several papers, and recently became a Qualified Medical Evaluator for the State of California.  Dr. Kwon is a psychiatrist in Tustin who has worked with a  diverse population.

In addition to the common treatments offered by psychiatrists, such as medications and therapy, Dr. Kwon offers other alternatives such as acupuncture.

Dr. Grace Kwon completed a doctorate in osteopathic medicine which can be broadly described as conceptualizing patients as whole persons.

Doctor Kwon is devoted to helping patients with addiction and other mental health challenges.
